O papel e a participação da mulher na cooperativa de Irituia.

Abstract

This current study was realized together with women linked to the D'Irituia cooperative which based in the municipality of Iritúia, located in the northeastern region of the state of Pará and the Guamá microregion. It addresses an analysis of role and the participation of women in agricultural production, or in the organizational structure of this cooperative. Sought to identify the activities developed by women in said cooperative, which was extremely necessary to emphasize the role and the importance of female participation in rural areas and their participation in cooperatives. The methodological procedures included individual interviews guided by the completion of a semi-structured questionnaires, that is included in the appendix of this research, with questions about the cooperative organization process, as well as the daily routine of women's work. Thirteen cooperated women were interviewed. Taking into account the interviews, it has been verified that women are gaining gradually visibility and space in the rural environment, especially in agricultural production, since they have been making multitasking, as their participation in the organization structure and involved in all daily activities of the cooperative. However, even with all these achievements, it is well known that the history of women facing their insertion and visibility in this environment is quite long, much due to the fact that their functions are still seen by many as focused on productive or reproductive activity. But, when refers to the local and familiar agriculture, these women are being responsible for contribute partially or totally to her family income, evidencing that they can reach the balance of rights and opportunities among the men on the agricultural scene.
