Análise do crescimento urbano e populacional e seus efeitos no município de Ananindeua - PA

Abstract

The urbanization process in both Brazil and the Amazon brought with it major spatial changes. However, the municipality of Ananindeua also suffered from this process and underwent radical changes, whether in the urban, infrastructural or social context. In this context, new forms of spontaneous housing were established with the consolidation of old neighborhoods or the growth of new neighborhoods, so that, in most cases, there was no minimum urban planning to accommodate these new housing forms and a larger population. Therefore, this study focuses on the evolution of the urban area of the municipality between 1994 and 2024 in order to elucidate how this urbanization process in Ananindeua occurred. In addition, the study analyzed population growth through the IBGE census between 1991 and 2022 with the aim of highlighting the large population migration to the municipality, a migration that made Ananindeua the second most populous municipality in the state of Pará. Furthermore, field visits were carried out with the taking of photographs to analyze the socioeconomic division and, in addition, to show the different infrastructural aspects of the municipality. From this perspective, significant differences were found in distincts areas of the same neighborhoods, in addition to the fact that population migration combined with urban development without planning generated several problems for the population of Ananindeua.
